a. PWD Applicant Information (Required)
When you register as an applicant, we collect:

  • Username
  • Email address
  • Password
  • First name, last name
  • Sex at birth
  • Academic level
  • PWD category
  • Preferred role
  • Preferred province and city
  • Work mode (On-site, Remote, Hybrid)
  • Earliest date available (ASAP or specific date)
  • Preferred shift (Day, Night, Flexible)
  • Languages
  • Skills
  • Willingness to discuss location (checkbox)

Optional:
  • Profile picture
  • Profile description

b. Employer / Entity Information (Required)
When you register as an employer, we collect:

  • Username
  • Email address
  • Password
  • Company logo
  • Company name and description
  • Business address
  • Preferred province and city, ZIP code
  • Service period (in years)
  • Nature of business (e.g., agriculture, technology, finance)
  • First name, last name, position, and mobile number

c. System and Device Information (Non-Personal)
We automatically collect:

  • Device and browser type
  • IP address and logs
  • User interactions with the platform (clicks, page visits)
  • This data is used to improve system performance and security

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used for the following purposes:

  • Match PWD applicants with appropriate job opportunities based on skills, preferences, and accessibility needs
  • Facilitate job applications and allow communication between applicants and employers
  • Notify users of system updates, application status, or other relevant alerts
  • Generate platform analytics to enhance accessibility, inclusivity, and service delivery
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Send optional announcements or promotional content (only with your consent)

3. Information Sharing

Your data may be shared with:

  • Employers - when you apply for a job, or when your profile matches their posting
  • Service providers - for hosting, cloud storage, analytics, and customer support under strict confidentiality agreements
  • Government agencies or legal bodies - if required by law, subpoena, or regulatory compliance

We do not sell or lease your personal data to any third party.


4. Data Security

PWD-E implements both technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data:

  • HTTPS encryption for secure transmission
  • Access restricted to authorized personnel only
  • Web Application Firewall (WAF) and regular security scans
  • Data backup, monitoring, and threat detection systems

7. Retention of Personal Information

a. General Retention Policy
We retain personal data for only one (1) year, unless required longer by law, accreditation, or academic compliance.


b. Specific Retention Schedules

  • User data: Retained during account activity and up to 1 year after deactivation or inactivity.
  • Employer data: Retained up to 1 year after account deletion.
  • Job applications: Retained up to 1 year for reference and record keeping.
  • DTR logs and reports: Stored for 1 year after job contract completion or account deletion.


c. Legal or Institutional Exceptions
Some data may be retained longer to meet institutional audit requirements or legal obligations.


d. Data Minimization and Security
We strictly collect only necessary data and apply encryption and access control to ensure secure storage during the retention period.


8. Consent and Lawful Processing

By using PWD-E, you voluntarily consent to the collection, use, and processing of your data for the purposes stated. You may withdraw your consent at any time by changing your account settings or contacting us. If you use PWD-E from outside the Philippines, you agree to the cross-border transfer of your data to the Philippines for lawful processing.


8.1 Parental Consent for Minors

If you are below 18 years old, please obtain consent from your parent or legal guardian before using PWD-E.


9. Your Rights Under the Law

In accordance with RA 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012), you have the right to:

  1. Account Creation and Registration
    Employers must register for an account and provide accurate and up-to-date information to access and use the Website’s services.   2. Job Postings and Content
    By posting job openings, you confirm that all submitted content is accurate, complete, and lawful. You are solely responsible for the content of your job postings and any resulting outcomes. All interactions, negotiations, and hiring decisions between you and the applicant are entirely your responsibility. PWD-E has no role in employment arrangements.

    The Website and all its content—including text, graphics, logos, and software—are protected by intellectual property rights owned by us or our licensors. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or use any part of the Website without explicit permission.
  5. Limitation of Liability

    You agree to conduct yourself professionally and honestly in all interactions with host companies and coordinators.
  3. Application Conduct
    You affirm that all information in your application is truthful and complete. Misrepresentation, misconduct, or unprofessional behavior may result in suspension or termination of your account.
  4. Matching and Placement
    PWD-E facilitates connections but does not guarantee placement. Internship selection and approval are determined solely by host companies. We are not responsible for any outcomes, including mismatches or rejections.
  5. Data Use and Communication
    You consent to the collection and use of your personal data for internship matching, communication with HTEs and coordinators, and academic monitoring. System notifications and optional promotional messages may be sent to you, which can be managed via your account settings.
  6. Intellectual Property
    All materials you upload (e.g., resumes, cover letters, portfolios) remain your intellectual property. By submitting them, you grant PWD-E a limited, non-exclusive license to use them solely for job application processing and facilitation.
  7. Limitation of Liability
    PWD-E is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Website or any interaction with employers.
  8. Indemnification
    You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PWD-E from any claims, damages, or expenses resulting from your use of the Website or any breach of these Terms.

    You may access student data strictly for academic supervision and monitoring purposes. Any misuse of data may result in disciplinary actions.
  4. Communication and Professional Conduct

How it started?

As persons with disabilities and graduated students, they experienced the barriers that continue to exist in the job market. Every year, many individuals with disabilities struggle to find accessible and inclusive job opportunities. The process can be discouraging, with limited support, biased hiring practices, and few companies prepared to accommodate their needs.

Even as students, they were already striving to overcome challenges—not just to succeed academically, but to prepare for future employment. They worked hard to meet school requirements, often facing difficulties due to accessibility issues. Unfortunately, the struggle didn’t end with graduation. It continued as they entered the job market, where many of the same barriers still existed.

With the support and diverse ideas of both non-PWD and PWD individuals, we created a platform designed to make job hunting more accessible and inclusive for persons with disabilities. PWD-E connects job seekers, employers, and support networks in one organized and accessible space. Our goal is to simplify the hiring process and promote equal employment opportunities for everyone involved.

As graduated students and individuals with disabilities, they experienced the challenges of limited opportunities, accessibility barriers, and lack of inclusive hiring practices. While some graduates may have a hard time finding a job, people with disabilities often face these challenges more regularly and more severely. At PWD-E, this is the reality we aim to change—one opportunity at a time.
